Reason
for choosing this destination:
We
wanted to go somewhere exotic with a warm climate. Our
first destination were the Maldives but since the tsunami
we changed our plans and we don't regret our choice.
How
was the weather?
The
weather was quite warm. Actually it was winter
there but the temperature was an average 25. It was
really funny going to the beach and wearing summer clothes
in their winter season. At night it used to be
slightly cold. There were the famous intermittent showers
too but that never bothered us.
Where
have you stayed?
We
chose to stay at Merville Beach Hotel and we stayed
in a beach hut. We were surrounded by exotic flowers
and friendly birds. We were treated like royalty.We
had good value for money.
What
did you do?
We
made the most of our holiday at Mauritius. My husband
tried all the water sports at the hotel. We booked tours.
We went for walks, tried the traditional food, shopping,
visited museums, sunbathed and even hired a car for
two days and went round Mauritius by ourselves - wonderful
experience.
In
Dubai we went shopping and I was awed by the sheer luxury
of the country. We rode camels, went shopping in their
enormous shopping malls. We went on two safaris
- mountain and desert safaris. The latter one is simply
indescribable. The food was good but the heat in August
was unbearable.
