"Our engagement was one of the best days we’ve spent together.
We had been planning it out only since that summer and we both wanted something different. We came up with the idea of having our engagement on a boat, to give it that ‘summer night’ theme. It was very difficult to convince our grandparents to join us once the day arrived, but we managed to have them all onboard.
It turned out to be such a great event. Invitations were sent in the form of a ‘message in a bottle’ to keep the same theme and the actual invite inside the bottle was in the shape of a scroll tied with a red ribbon and lying on a layer of sand at the bottom of the bottle. This was already a ‘wow’ effect when our guests received it.
We asked everyone to come dressed up casually and the swimsuit was a must. It was just myself and Mauro who greeted our guests dressed up in our formal dresses. Once the ceremony and the exchange of gifts was over, we also changed into our swimsuits and stopped further out from St. Paul’s to have a dip and enjoy the buffet on board the boat.
We really enjoyed our evening and our family and friends still mention they had so much fun on that day…so they look even more forward for the wedding… but until then, we’ll keep all the details a surprise!"
