THY - Turkish Airlines, Inc. is the national airline of Turkey, headquartered in Istanbul. It operates a network of scheduled services to 120 international and 38 domestic cities, serving a total of 158 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the USA. The airline's main base is at Atatürk International Airport, with secondary hubs at Esenboga International Airport, Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, and Adnan Menderes Airport.

Turkish airlines is projected to be Europe's 7th biggest airline in terms of passengers carried in 2009 (4th in national flag carriers). The airline has more than 12,000 employees and has been a member of the Star Alliance since 1 April 2008.

To that end, THY plan to start flying to a number cities in 2010: Accra, Arbil, Basrah, Dar es Salaam, Dhaka, Entebbe, Ho Chi Minh City, Los Angeles, Shiraz, Sochi, Washington DC.

Moreover, Turkish Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with AirMalta, thus enabling passengers to fly out of Malta to Istanbul and beyond on a Turkish Airline flight number and having the advantage of throughfares when travelling beyond Istanbul.

One reason, in our opinion, that the Croatian coastline is so beautiful is that it contains more than one thousand dazzling islands. Most of the islands, however, are small and uninhabited and there are therefore only 20 or so larger islands which are popular with tourists.

The Croatian coastline is perfect for sailing holidays. With so many islands and ports, you can stop as many times as you like or sail for as long as you wish. With over 1,000 islands, sailing holidays can provide an excellent way of seeing some of the smaller (perhaps even uninhabited!) islands that would otherwise be difficult to visit with scheduled ferry lines.

Sailing holidays generally either consist of a course or the chartering of a boat, with or without a skipper.  If chartering a boat takes your fancy, there are plenty of options open to you - everything from small motorboats to make short trips to local islands, to large, luxury yachts where the sky may very well be the limit - at least in terms of price.
