The Civil Ceremony

Well-known baroque and operatic arias or peaceful art-songs create a distinctive atmosphere during a civil ceremony.  As in a church ceremony, most couples choose to have a song at the signing of the register, entrance and exit.

About

Dorothy trained under the direction of soprano Miriam Cauchi and attended interpretation master classes by Juliette Bisazza Zanni and Daniel Lichti. She studied piano, theory of Music and solfège. Dorothy attained her B.A. (Hons) in Theatre Studies at the University of Malta.

Dorothy featured in several recitals and opera productions both locally and internationally. Her repertoire includes Donizetti, Pergolesi, Handel, Mozart, Grieg, Schubert and Bernstein.

Dorothy received guidance in actor training with Aleateia Theatre Group with whom she also participated in premiere productions locally and abroad.

She is gaining further insight into direction and actor formation, by assisting to foreign opera directors at the Astra Theatre in Gozo and also in Italy.

Dorothy is singing in a series of recitals at St. James Cavalier, specializing in Baroque Opera and 20th Century music. Dorothy also works in Children’s Theatre and Creative drama with children and young adults, including those with special needs.
