Elia Caterers in the past

Elia Borg Bonaci Limited is a family business that was set up by the late Elia Borg Bonaci, way back in 1953, with premises in Hamrun – a factory in Villambrosa Street and a cafeteria in St. Joseph High Road, just opposite St.Gaetan’s parish church.

Elia and his wife Rita together with their eleven children all contributed to this family business at one point or another.

As soon as it took off, it was evident that the business would be a success. The business made a name for itself with various products and services it specialised in. Most notably, it was known for its ice cream and for the service it offered in catering for wedding receptions.

Elia Caterers today

Today, fifty years on, the company is run by five of Elia’s sons. In spite of the fact that half a century has passed from the date of establishment of the business, most of the recipes used for today’s products are still the same genuine original recipes.

The company has continued to grow over these years with the introduction of new products and services to complement to the old ones and to further meet our customer’s needs and wishes.
