  The Celebrant/Officiant

The celebrant (officiant in case of a civil wedding) is the person marrying you, so try to choose one with whom you are close.

 

If you have a priest in your family, you can choose him.  Otherwise look for a priest who knew one or both of you when you were younger.  This will certainly make the ceremony more intimate.

The officiant, in case of a civil wedding, is appointed by the Marriage Registry of Malta.
