6 months before:

Complete guest list.

Order the drinks for the reception.

Book the hairdresser and beautician.

Book the flowers: the bride's bouquet, the bridal party's bouquets, flowers for your home, for the church together with those decorating the wedding venue. (Click here for tips on how to choose your flowers)

Decide on your wedding list, if you are having one.

Print the wedding invitations and 'Thank You' cards.

Buy or make the souvenirs.

Plan your honeymoon and make the necessary reservations.  Do not forget any legality required, like visas and passports.  Also check whether you require any inoculations.

Have a medical examination and even a dental check-up.

Start preparing the ceremony booklet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3 months before:

Send invitations to any guests living abroad.

Buy your wedding rings and do the engraving.

Buy champagne glasses and have them engraved.

Brides: Start the '12-Week Beauty Countdown' to ensure you look your best on your Wedding Day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 months before:

Request the publication of banns at the Marriage Registry and at the Curia.

Check the men's fittings.

Have the pre-wedding photographs and video taken.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 month before:

Buy and special lingerie in time for fittings of the gown.

Make any alterations to the bride's gown and those of the bridesmaids, flower-girl, etc.

Buy any jewellery (earrings, necklace, etc.) and other remaining accessories to be worn on your day.

Confirm your honeymoon flights, accommodation, etc.  Confirm that your passports are valid!

Start confirming all other arrangements and contracts.

Confirm the final number of guests with your caterer and finalise the menu.

Plan the reception seating, if having a sit-down meal.

Arrange with the respective police stations and local councils for any parking or other permits you might require, for example: to access Mdina with a car.

If you are taking your mobile phone with you abroad check whether you have to notify your service provider.

Discuss your hens and bachelors parties with your maid of honour and best man.

Buy your going-away outfit.

Do a hair and make-up trial.

Apply for an international credit card like Visa or MasterCard, if you don't have one. Check whether the credit limit is enough for your needs.  If not, you might need to deposit some money in the respective credit card account.
