existence since 1980, we pride ourselves on loyalty
to the original song. We play the versions of
tunes that are familiar to everyone.
The
ability to combine our upbeat style while playing 60's
tunes with the same energy as contemporary 90's makes
us ideal for any crowd that likes to listen or dance.
We
keep the young in the groove and the old in the mood.

our musicians have been professional performers for
many years and come from many genres. This comes in
handy when entertaining a mixed range of ages.
With
two lead vocalists, male and female, in front of a solid
rhythm section consisting of keyboards, guitar and drums,
makes Speed of Sound a well-balanced band.
This
combination not only creates a full sound but allows
flexibility to perform various styles e.g.; solos
/ duets / instrumental in different arrangements.

Toronto born songster
and lead vocalist.
Joanne
has performed in clubs all over Malta.
Our
audiences are enthralled with her lead singing as well
as her duets and backing vocals with Eraldo.
Winner
of various song festivals she has also participated
in festivals abroad with success.

Eraldo
Sciberras
Lead
vocalist, saxophone and keyboard player, is the leader of the band.
Eraldo
songwriter and musician comes from a musical family
and has composed and sung in local festivals.
He
placed first in The Dragonara Song Festival
|

Mario
Sciberras
Lead
guitarist and rhythm, plays versatile music and specializes
in Latin American and jazz.
|
|
|
Richard
Sacco
Drums
and percussionist, studied under the acclaimed drummer
Charles (CITY) Gatt.
Richard
plays with various bands all over Malta and is a professional
bagpipe player offering his services also for Wedding
Ceremonies.
