Georgina Saliba to Gilbert Mula

We were still very young when we first met. I was still 12 and Georgina was 15.  We used to play in front of my grandmother's house, but our friendship developed into something better.

One day, when I was 14, me and Georgina (or Jorji as I call her) :) went together to the village feast. I remember buying her some candy floss and she thanked me with a kiss.  From then on, we started seeing each other every day.

Then, when I was 18, I decided to propose. I took her to my granny and she cooked us the best ‘kusksu’ in the world.  Then I took her in the garden where I proposed with a small ring I had bought.

She immediately started crying because she thought it was too early to get married. In fact the day after she broke up with me!

Then after two years of separation, she came back to me, and this time it was she who proposed.  Now, we've been engaged for the last 12 years and finally we have decided to get married!

We're still refurbishing our grandmother's place but in 5 years’ time, we are sure that we will be a married couple!

So an update on our story...

Poor nanna Gregoria passed away, she was 101 years old and she could still cook up a nice kusksu! She will be greatly missed.

Meanwhile we have finished restoring my nanna's house but we're keeping all the furniture as a keepsake. Nanna would be so happy!

Also, we have booked everything and we're good to go early! In fact, we're marrying a year before! I am now 35 years old and Georgina 38, and we'll be trying for children as soon as we get married!
