I have been through your site and I must say I was delighted with it. I also came across your competition and decided to venture. Who knows, after all I might be as lucky in this competition as I have been in love!
I'd like to compete for the Louis Jewellery competition i.e. competition B. Your question is quite simple. You ask me to relate the way my fiance proposed. Well it is not too hard to remember such a special occasion especially in my case...
I have been going out with Norman for 5years and 4 months. Like any other couple we have had our ups and downs but from the time I set eye on him I knew he'd be the one. Norman proposed on the 30th October 2000.
The day before, Norman and I had a very bad fight over the phone. Norman said that he wanted to meet and we opted for Valletta the following day. I figured out that he wanted to break up after all he had enough of my jealousy. Well the upper Barrakka was the place he conducted me to, but he didn't say a word, unlike me who gave him a good piece of mind. After all it was my last opportunity.
Little did I remember of all the support he had been giving me especially considering that I had just started my university course. After an hour, Norman looked at me and said he needed to buy something.
He vanished while I was looking at a shop window. When he returned I was too bugged to bother ask where he went. My boyfriend told me he needed to find a priest. I couldn't understand what he was talking about but went along. It was then that Norman entered a chapel and stopped the first priest he met...
I can still remember his very words..."Father, my girlfriend doesn't know what I'm up to but I have just bought her this ring. I'd like you to bless it cause I know that she's the girl I love and want to live with for the rest of my life".
Tears flowed down my face as the priest asked me whether this was what I wanted, but I didn't hesitate to say yes. Here we had a private ceremony. Just me, him and the priest in front of the alter.
This year Norman and I had a proper engagement ceremony surrounded by our families and friends. The engagement ring remained the same, his gift was a beautiful bracelet from Louis Jewellers and all was as magic as that day, 1.5 years previously. Unfortunately, Norman lost his bracelet last week and although I was disappointed I didn't give it much importance cause that is just a symbol.. the magic stays forever and goes on.
We decided to tie the knot on the 18th September 2004 as soon as I finish my university course. Some people might think its premature but although I'm only 21, I know that Norman is my Mr. Right and that I want to live my life with him. Although he's 5 years my senior, he understands me fully and makes me feel the most important woman on earth.
That is why I want to thank you for your site cause it really helps couples like us to make out of our wedding day an enjoyable and easy experience.
Thanks again for the opportunity given Yours Faithfully Karin Borg.
