In my opinion our relationship was really meant to be, as I will explain.
Both our families have a winter residence and another for summer. In winter my parents live in Msida while his parents in Mosta. In summer both our families live in St.Paul’s Bay.
I used to know a lot of people from St.Paul’s Bay and one day in 1999, out of nowhere, Jennings showed up. The first time I saw him was at the bumping cars in Bugibba. I knew his friends very well but I had never seen him before.
I used to go to Bugibba every night. There I saw him very often and my attraction towards him always grew. The same was happening to him but since we didn’t know each other we were very shy to ask each other out.
One night we met at a bar and my friend and his friend, who knew each other, hooked us up and from that day for the following two weeks we met at the same time in the same place without any appointment. It all happened naturally.
Then after two weeks we exchanged phone numbers cause it was a little awkward not having his number and nowhere to reach each other.
As time passed by we got to know each other more and strangely enough we got the same interests…cars, boats and motorbikes, so we got along great. After a few months’ time we met each other’s parents. When my father and his got to know who we are and who our families were, they couldn’t believe it. They had been friends since childhood and always use to joke around that one day their children (me and my fiancé) would get married to each other!
Well, like all relationships, we had difficulties but our love for each other was always strong. Now five years have passed and our relationship is stronger than ever.
This year, 2004, we're getting engaged and with the help of our Lord we'll get married in 2005.
