How did we meet? It was August 1st, 1999. My best friend Louise and I decided to go to a party at Splash 'n' Fun Bahar ic-Caghaq. We were both single at the time and ready to have a very good time. I was so relaxed simply wearing sunglasses with no make up at all.
Anyway, we were at this party, we'd had a few drinks and were really enjoying the music when we decided to go and get a drink from the bar.
On our way I saw this guy, looking up towards the DJ, and I said to myself "What a handsome guy he is."
We continued walking to the bar. On our way back, I saw this guy again and I told Louise, look this guy, he's got beautiful blue eyes. At first I thought he was a foreigner. All of a sudden he looked at me and obviously enough, I smiled at him.
Then he moved towards me and I told him "How sweet you are, are you foreign?"
He said " No, I'm Maltese and you?"
I said " I'm Maltese too, can I have a picture with you?" and his reply was "Certainly!!"
Then Louise took a picture. Anyway, I said thank you and continued walking. After about 15 minutes, I felt someone touching my shoulder. I turned around to find this same guy.
He was with his friend, Ian, and he had come to say hello. To cut the story short, Louise and Ian went to get a drink and left us alone. We stayed together for the rest of the party and he told me he would phone me on Tuesday at work.
First thing, as soon as I got to my desk, on Tuesday 8.00am, the phone rang... It was him!!! I was so excited, I couldn't believe he had phoned.
We started dating and after 5 months we bought an apartment together. It was still at the planning stage.
Now we've been together for over 3 years and we're getting married in two and a half years' time. The witnesses are going to be Ian and Louise- our two best friends who were with us from the very first day!
