We knew each other for about 10 years before we went out together.
It was on Easter Day of 1999 when we had a real conversation. He was with his friend who was teasing me that Mando wanted to take me out. At the time I was seeing someone else, but a month later, after I realised I was continuously thinking about Mando, I went to look for him one Sunday morning, the 16th May 1999.
I didn't talk to him, but told his friend, that I would go out with him, but not that evening, because I was sick. That evening I just couldn't stay home and miss my first date.
So I took my car and went to meet him, obviously hoping that he would be in the usual places he used to go. Luckily I found him. When I went near him he already knew that I wanted to go out with him and even in the light of the disco I could see him blush. I gave him my car keys so that he would hold them for me and stayed there.
For our first date it was a disaster because he had a friend with him who never left our side, for not even a second, and kept interrupting our conversation. He came between us while we were talking and he even came with us while Mando walked me to the car.
I wanted to kill him as I didn't have the chance for a little kiss on the cheeks.
Well now I am very happy that I met him, even though I wished it was a little different and more romantic for a first date.
Today we have been together almost 4 years and I don't regret a single thing, thank God!
