Wedding date : 8th March 2005
Our story started rather strangely...
It was April 2001, when one fine morning (and it was rather fine cause the time was 7.00am), my mobile phone rang.
I looked at the number but didn’t recognize it but since I worked as a property negotiator I opted for answering this call as it could be a prospective buyer.
After saying “Hello” for about 6 times the other end of the call just hang up. Between my sleepiness and my anger for waking me up at that hour, I started saying about a million things to that mysterious person. Then, went back to sleep.
About a week later, I went to my study room after a day’s work and turned on the computer. At about 11.00pm, I decided to go into the Maltese channel. It was the first time I entered this channel as I preferred to chat with foreigners as they don’t ask you to meet with them. But this time I decided to just stay in that channel and see what is happening.
After about 5 minutes I started chatting with a Maltese guy and after all the introductions and everything else, he asked me what I do for a living and I explained what my job consists of and he asked me if I could try and find some information on a property that is near his house.
I was getting annoyed cause I taught that he only wanted to see who am I and that it wasn’t true about this property. So I asked him for his mobile number and that I will contact him sometime that week and will go to see it.
So, we exchanged our numbers.
Then, came the funny situation.
He told me that he knows my number but can’t figure where. Then, asked me if sometime I receive any anonymous calls early in the morning. I told him that the last one I received was last week and that I told a millions things to that mysterious person for waking me up so early.
He told me that he was very sorry for waking me up and that he never had the intention for not speaking up when I answered but that voice surprised him as he was trying to call his friend and heard a female voice on the other end.
I blushed even though he wasn’t seeing me and never told him what I wished for him for waking me at that time. Later, I learned what the mistake was; he dialed a 9 instead of a 6 so he phoned me. From that day, for about 2 weeks we chatted every day and talked about everything but we never met. He continued asking when I will meet him for that information.
Finally, I gave him an appointment for a Thursday at 5.00pm sharp and told him that I won’t wait so he sent me a plan of the site so that I find it easily. So that Thursday after a day’s work at Gozo as that was my section of property, I set drive to meet him.
But after going around this area for about 15 minutes without finding this street, I called him and in about 2 minutes he came for me. At least I was in the vicinity.
The first impression I got of him wasn’t very nice cause he told me something about not knowing how to follow plans and doing my type of job. He was really trying to get on my nerves.
I gave him the information he wanted and left. That evening we chatted again and after telling him that he was really rude and he excused himself, he asked me to meet again but this time on a date. But apart from him being rude, I really like what I saw and told him so. I learned that he couldn’t forget the look of my eyes.
And that was it. That night on the chat he was really romantic, so I accepted to go out with him. We set a date and a time and planned where we’ll go. We decided to go near the sea.
I will never forget that day. As a proper gentleman he came to pick me up at home. I took a bottle of white wine, 2 glasses and some music. With the view of the sea in front of us, we talked and drank wine and talked and talked.
From that day on we went out together everyday. In March of this year, we decided that we will pass our lives together till death do us apart.
So we set our wedding date for the 8th of March 2003.
Everyday that passes, we love each other more and that become more convinced that each other we want FOREVER. I believe that love at first sight can really happen.
