Well, the way I met my girlfriend was really simple!
It was 31st December 1998, when I went with a friend of mine to Gianpula for the new years eve party!
I had no plans at all in mind to get on with any girl for the night. I had said to myself that if something comes my way, then let it be!
I arrived at about 11.30 and soon started to drink! Gianpula was really packed and there was plenty of choice (drinks and girls). Every now and then I met some friends as well.
At around 11.50pm I went to the bar to get another drink with my friends and then we went back to the stairs near the dance floor.
Next to me there was this girl, whom I did not know or even did not have any look at her face! It was 11.55pm, when all of a sudden I stretched my hand round her back and she then did the same!
I think love was in the air because soon after...we gave the first kiss to each other and two minutes after we were celebrating the count down together!
The night went on and on, and we were still together! It was only after three hours that we discovered each other's name!
The reason for this delay was that it did not cross my mind to ask for her name, I was too busy doing other things!
Then her sister came and asked her who I was! She answered by turning to me and said "Hi my name is Amanda!" I told her " I`m Michael. Nice to meet you!"
I did not want to loose contact with her so I asked for her telephone number to see each other again in the evening!
From then on we continued to see each other and now we are so happy together that we will be getting married!
I think it was really destiny that I had to meet Amanda, as going to Gianpula was not in my plans initially. I had already booked tickets to another party which I cancelled as my friends were going to Gianpula!
I never regretted that decision!
