Jonathan and I have known each other since we were at school. We were at Higher Secondary together. Although we attended different lectures, we used to meet in a group called "Christian Community".
Jonathan and I were only friends at first, although I knew that he liked me very much.
Even though we were friends we used to share our worries and secrets with each other, but still for a whole year he did not ask me out.
The funny part is that I was nicknamed "Agenzija Matrimonale" because I always tried to fix my friends up with people they liked.
So now after a year I had to find out if he wanted to have a date with me.
One day we went to Valletta and a walk at the Upper Barrakka. There I asked him directly if he liked me and it was then that he asked me out.
It was Saturday 4th January 1997. As time passed we found out that we loved each other and decided to get engaged on the 18th December 1999.
I still had to finish University and so that same year we agreed to get married on the 7th September 2003 to give me time to finish university.
This is a very important step for us (the wedding), because it means that we are ready to commit ourselves to become one thing and share everything, in good times and even in bad times.
